Who?

Jim Laczkowski is a Chicago-based filmmaker, writer, musician, and librarian whose short films include The Switching Division, selected for several festival programs, and The Past Is Here, a piece on mental health and memory. He is currently in production on a feature documentary about the arts, mental health, and survival, and is working on a memoir-in-essays. His recent essay "Song for John Darnielle," appears in The Sunset Tree at 20 (Broad Sound Spotlights). Since 2011 he has hosted Director's Club, a long-running podcast on film, music, and pop culture obsession, and founded the Now Playing Network. Jim programs a variety of events for the Chicago Public Library and has recorded and self-produced original songs for the past two decades.

One of the more successful endeavors happens to be the previously hosted Substack page (migrated to here thanks to Ghost). Over 250 paid readers and over 500 subscribers that engage with his work.
