#34: The Gate (1987) (dir. Tibor Takács)
This was the very first horror movie I saw in its entirety in 88', from that moment on, I was hooked. Not to mention, grateful that the mom-and-pop video store nearby would let me rent horror movies!
#33: "Reservations" - Wilco
It's been tricky to write once a week but have no fear, this project will continue and let's get back to music with a song that means the world to me. 2002 was a rough year, dad. But this band helped.
#32: La Jetée (1962) (dir. Chris Marker)
One of my absolute favorite films that is a key inspiration for what I hope to achieve with a short work myself someday, only having no characters and no voice-over... here, it works wonders.
#31: Asteroid City (2023) (dir. Wes Anderson)
There will be other Anderson films to come but somehow this has crept into my top five favorites and it's one that I keep thinking about more and more. If you've seen it, comment with your takes too!
#30: "Sweet Thing" - Van Morrison
Van Morrison is now a despicable human being, but his music remains potent, timeless and stunning in ways that I can't dismiss. This was another game-changer.
2023: The Year So Far (Still In Love With Projectors and Headphones)
It's hard to keep up with new films & music while working a day job, not to mention a podcast, writing reviews, visiting an aging parent, but there are reasons in 2023 to remain in the light
#29: "The Servant" (1963) (dir. Joseph Losey)
A movie where I just want to post nothing but images that stick with me - in fact I might opt for that from time to time since I respond to that even more so than words. But, this is Pinter!
