#19: "All My Friends" - LCD Soundsystem
In which I finally accept that dance music still has a special place in my heart. Especially when it's created by a pudgy dude in his late 40s. This song moves me in two different ways.
#18: Evil Dead 2 (1987) (dir. Sam Raimi)
I had no idea that a camera could do what it does here, until the year 1990 when a local video store let me rent ED2 so I took it home and made my mom very angry.
#17: Cloak and Dagger (1984) (dir. Richard Franklin)
My love of this comes from a geyser of nostalgia and an immeasurable amount of watches when I was younger but I also think this is more than just "Hitchcock for kids."
#16: "Oh God, Where Are You Now? (In Pickeral Lake? Pigeon? Marquette? Mackinaw?)" - Sufjan Stevens
Another personal choice from an album that serves as a reminder of colder days, lots of snow and alcohol and a sense of things not getting better. But this song & album were of great comfort.
#15: The Letter (1940) (dir. William Wyler)
This won't be the last Wyler film I write about, but it was my introduction to the powerhouse acting and wide-eyes of Davis. A stunning opening tracking shot alone is worth paying close attention to.
